Spanish Nature Club
SNC is a nature-based program in Santa Cruz California, that offers an opportunity to play, learn, and bond with the natural world and with others, while getting immersed in the Spanish Language. (No prior Spanish experience is necessary).
The Goal
Help children to felt in love with nature and expose them to the second-most spoken native language in the world! Spanish.
Spend quality time in natural areas of Santa Cruz County.
Help to slow down, connect with nature and care for the local ecosystems.
Facilitate nature-based play, child-led, and emergent curriculum.
Encourage more empathetic and more open-minded children through a Spanish immersion experience.
Daily Flow
Honoring our Slow Down philosophy, we allow for a flexible flow of the day.
Hola Amigos: Greetings and community circle
Nature Adventure: Includes hike, exploration, observation.
Snack time: Kid's choice spot.
Enrichment Circle: We use this time for art project, nature journaling, Spanish songs, Spanish vocabulary, or Spanish story time.
Nature Play: (Unstructured-free)
Lunch Time: We will gather for a lunch.
Tea party: We finish the day with expressions of gratitude to Mother Earth, friends and a cup of forest tea.
